
Sherry Espin
Board Director
Sherry Espin joined the Quality committee of the CGMH Board of Directors in 2023 as a community representative, and joined the Board of Directors in June 2024. Sherry is a member of the Quality and Hospital Development Committees of the Board.
She is a Registered Nurse and Associate Professor at the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing, Toronto Metropolitan University.
Sherry’s research and teaching expertise is focused in two key areas: quality and patient safety; and interprofessional education and teamwork, and is grounded in her prior clinical experience as an operating room nurse.
In the role as Associate Editor on the Board of Patient Safety of Frontiers in Health Services Journal in the United Kingdom and as an Editorial Board Member of the American Operating Room Nursing Journal, Sherry supports the dissemination of research locally, nationally and internationally. Additionally, Sherry is a member of the Centre for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety.
Sherry has a BScN from Western University and a PhD in Health Professions Education from the University of Toronto, and resides in the Town of Collingwood.
