Katie joined the CGMH Board in 2025.

Katie is a respected leader with over 40 years of experience in nursing, having worked across a wide range of health care settings in both front-line and management roles. She brings deep expertise in nursing regulation, nursing education, and public health.

Katie was previously the Chief Nursing Officer at Toronto Public Health and held senior roles with the College of Nurses of Ontario. She has also served as President of several professional associations, including the Community Health Nurses of Canada and the Community Health Nurses of Ontario.

Over her career, Katie has held progressive leadership roles in healthcare and nursing regulation. She has served on multiple volunteer boards, including the Canadian Nurses Association, and held a clinical appointment with the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto.

Katie holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master’s in Health Science, both from the University of Toronto. She is a licensed nurse (retired class) with the College of Nurses of Ontario and has additional certifications in community health nursing and health promotion.

Recently retired, Katie lives in the Town of Collingwood. She is a proud mother of three and grandmother to four, and enjoys golf, skiing, curling, and pottery in her spare time.
