Hospital visits often involve waiting. Waiting for appointments, waiting for tests, waiting for news, or spending long hours supporting someone you care about.

Thanks to a new partnership with the Collingwood Public Library, patients, families and visitors now have access to free digital books, audiobooks, magazines and other resources through the Library's Bridging the Gap initiative.

The program provides 14 days of free access to the Library's digital collection through a simple sign-up process, making it easy for people to discover something to read, listen to or learn while spending time at the hospital. This temporary access is not limited to Collingwood residents, making it a valuable resource for the many patients and visitors who come to CGMH from communities across the region or are visiting the area.

It's a small initiative, but one that can make a meaningful difference. A good book, an engaging audiobook, or a favourite magazine won't shorten a wait, but it might help make it a little easier.

Digital ads featuring QR codes that link directly to the program are now running on screens throughout CGMH's patient waiting areas.
