Ontarians 12 and older can now book their immunization appointment online through the provincial booking site at:  Ontario.ca/bookvaccine or by calling the Provincial Vaccine Information Line number at 1-888-999-6488. The Provincial Vaccine Information Line is open Monday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is capable of providing assistance in 300 languages.

Second Dose appointments:

  • Those who do not have a second dose booked can now book second dose appointments only.
  • Those who received AstraZeneca vaccine for their first dose, that are choosing to receive an mRNA vaccine for their second dose can now book.

The majority of people are currently eligible for their second dose of vaccine at 16 weeks, however the province announced that it plans to accelerate second doses throughout the coming weeks. At this time the following groups are eligible to book their second dose at an earlier interval than 16 weeks.

  • Those who are turning 70 or older in 2021
  • Those who received their first dose before April 18 2021
  • Highest-priority health care workers, individuals with certain health conditions and First Nations, Inuit and Metis individuals and their household members.

To use the online booking you must have:

  • a green photo health card (an expired card will be accepted),
  • an email address
  • a modern web browser (the booking site is not compatible with Internet Explorer 11 or earlier).

Local vaccination clinics are located in Barrie/Innisfil, South Simcoe, North Simcoe, the Couchiching area, South Georgian Bay and Muskoka, and will operate on rotating days, along with many pharmacies in the region. For a complete list of locations, visit the Health Unit's website here.

Standby list for same-day appointments opens at 8 a.m. each morning

The health unit has a standby list for same-day vaccination appointments as a way to use up any remaining vaccine doses at the end of each clinic day. The standby list is now open each morning at 8 a.m., instead of 7 a.m. The list closes every day at 8 p.m., so people are encouraged to sign up each day that they are available.

As a reminder, the standby list is only for those who:

  • Meet current provincial eligibility criteria;
  • Have not yet received their first vaccine dose, and;
  • Can make it to an appointment within 45 minutes of receiving a call.
  • Individuals who meet ALL of the above criteria can sign up to the be on the list through the health unit website.
