Human Resources Associate (2018-93)

THE OPPORTUNITY:
Providing excellence in customer service, the Human Resources Associate is primarily responsible for providing administrative support forhuman resources, including the Chief Human Resources Officer, and health and safety related activities while applying strong organizational skills, to efficiently and effectively manage a high volume of work flow processes and documentation to support the Human Resources team.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Completion of a post-secondary program in Human Resources Management and/or Industrial Relations
- Possess, or is in process of obtaining, a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation
- Ability to type at least 40 words per minute (WPM)
- Excellent customer service demeanour
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem solving skills
- Ability to accurately perform the duties of the role with a focused attention to detail
- Physically able to perform the essential duties of the role
- Excellent attendance/performance record
- Committed to professional growth & development
- Committed to maintaining confidentiality
- Excellent typing and computer skills; especially with Microsoft Excel
- Excellent composition skills in developing reports, minutes, and correspondence.
- Previous experience with Human Resource Information Systems' considered an asset
- Previous experience in a unionized environment would be an asset
- Previous experience in a medical setting is preferred.
DUTIES: Including but not limited to:
- Provides a high quality of service as the first point of contact to all employees and customer inquiries by following organization standards
- Assist with day to day employee requests and HR related queries.
- Provides administrative support to the Human Resource Team inclusive of recruitment, occupational health & safety, and employee orientation & onboarding procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining an accurate and up-to-date HRIS.
- Responsible for maintaining various department trackers and databases
- Responsible for taking minutes for Human Resources Committees (Employee Engagement SteeringCommittee, Joint Health & Safety Committee, Healthy Workplace Committee)
- Provide assistance as required with various initiatives, such as employee health/wellness/engagement activities.
