What is a strategic plan?

A strategic plan is a detailed guide that helps the hospital make informed decisions to achieve our goals.

Why do we need a strategic plan?

Hospitals create new strategic plans every few years, but CGMH’s plan for 2025 and beyond is especially meaningful because it will guide us from the hospital you know today to the state-of-the-art health centre that will better serve our community tomorrow. Preparing to build a new hospital is a big job. We need to plan carefully to keep providing outstanding care in our aging building today, while preparing to add more programs and services in our future hospital. This plan will guide our work, keeping our efforts focused.

Does this mean the new hospital is approved?

While approval for the new hospital is still pending from the Province, CGMH is preparing for the future now. We need to be prepared and we need a detailed plan to guide our work.

Who makes the strategic plan?

The plan is made with input from many groups and people including our Board of Directors, hospital staff, volunteers, patients, families, partner hospitals, local government and the community. Everyone who contributes brings unique and diverse insights into the planning process.

Why should I get involved?

Your feedback is important. We want to know what matters most to you when you visit CGMH, and your thoughts on CGMH’s present and future.

How can I get involved?

We have an online survey for patients and community members. The survey is open until July 31, 2024. Please take a moment to share your thoughts. Printed copies are available at the Volunteer Desk in the front lobby of the hospital.
