Travel, Meal and Expense Disclosure

The public disclosure of the expenses for the Board of Directors and Strategic Leadership Team is an important part of the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital's commitment to remain open, transparent and accountable to our patients, stakeholders and communities.

In order to fulfill our mission, vision and values, staff and board members are required to travel to attend meetings and other sessions.

This section provides updates semi-annually with expenses being reported a maximum of 60 days after the end of each reporting period: expenses claimed between April 1 and September 30 will be posted by November 30 and expenses claimed between October 1 and March 31 will be posted by May 31 of each year.

All expense claims are subject to oversight and approval and are reimbursed as per the approved Business and Travel and Expense Reimbursement Policy.

Executive Compensation

Under the Broader Public Sector Executive Compensation Act (BPSECA) and the Executive Compensation Framework Regulation introduced by the government in 2016, CGMH has developed a new executive compensation program. The program was publicly posted for 30 days for public consultation prior to receiving final approval from the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and the Hospital's Board of Trustees. Broader Public Sector Accountability Act (Bill 168) Reporting Requirements

Every hospital in Ontario is required to complete an annual Board approved attestation that attests to the following:

  • The completion and accuracy of reports required on the use of consultants;
  • Compliance with the prohibition on engaging lobbyist services using public funds;
  • Compliance with expense claim directives; and,
  • Compliance with procurement directives.
