Spiritual Care Services

CGMH is committed to offering excellent Spiritual Care to support the needs of all patients, their families, hospital staff and volunteers. Our Spiritual Care Provider (sometimes called a chaplain) is a member of the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care and facilitates connections with the hospital and community faith leaders.

Our Spiritual Care Provider can offer:

  • Supportive conversations
  • A therapeutic presence in times of distress
  • Help to connect patients with their local community of faith
  • Help for families identifying and processing grief and loss
  • Facilitation or arrangement of prayers and other religious rituals
  • Items such as bibles, rosaries, etc.

After hours, CGMH has a dedicated and caring group of On-Call Spiritual Care Providers who are available as needed.

Patients and families can reach a Spiritual Care Provider by asking their nurse.
