New survey will provide patient feedback in a more timely fashion

Patient feedback has always been an effective way for Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGMH) to measure, evaluate and improve the patient experience. Beginning May 23, 2023 the hospital is launching a new patient experience survey, which will be emailed to patients within 24 - 48 hours of discharge from hospital, a change from a previously mailed out survey.

"CGMH looks forward to receiving our patient's feedback, reviewing the information and working to make improvements that best reflect their voice. We continuously strive to improve the patient experience and have made this a hospital priority under our strategic pillars," says Tracey Fletcher, CGMH's Interim VP Patient Experience and CNE.

The new survey will ask similar questions to the previously mailed out survey for consistency in data to measure improvements in the patient experience year over year. Although the questions remain the same, there are several new features of the survey that are improvements over the past. CGMH will receive responses in a timelier manner, enabling hospital leaders to access information in real-time and act on feedback more quickly. While the survey will initially be available in English and French, work in underway to translate and make surveys available in additional high-demand languages.

The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and is completely anonymous unless the patient chooses to provide their identity and contact information. For patients who do not have email, other options to complete the survey will be coming soon.
